Identifying the root cause(s)

Our operatives hold a certificate in Mould Assessment & Remediation through the Association of Damp. We will identify what is causing the mould and offer a very clear report on our findings. This can be a combination of factors including ongoing damp issues, lack of ventilation, condensation.

Mould Elimination

Any existing mould in the property needs to be treated and removed safely and effectively. Mould spores can travel once airborne and begin their life cycle in a new location if the conditions are right. Applying a fungicidal wash on its own is usually insufficient to erected the mould permanently. We will establish a strategy that is suitable for the property. This could be by removing affected soft furnishings and carpet, installation of HEPA air filtration in conjunction with a fungicidal wash and application of Mould Resistant Paint. All our operatives are trained to carry this work out in a safe manner, including the containment, removal and disposal of mould.

Mould Remediation

Once the root cause has been identified and existing mould removed, it is essential to carry out this work to prevent any future mould growth. If the conditions remain suitable, mould will quickly return in the same places. Typical examples of root causes include, leaking roof tiles, hidden plumbing leaks, lack of ventilation, condensation due to poor insulation, rising damp or a combination of any of these.
